XY's kindy is organising a nature trip to Kuala Selangor during this school holidays. Must be accompanied by adult. The itinerary includes mangrove walk, birds watching, visiting historical sites (museum, poison well, lighthouse, forts), paddy field and watching fireflies.
They charge RM70 for adult and RM50 for child. It's inclusive of transportation, insurance, entrance fee, tea snack and dinner. I've never been to K. Selangor. I think it'd be an interesting trip. But I'm wondering if we are able to see the fireflies. Anyone's been there? Is it a sure thing to see them? Still haven't decided if we want to join the trip. If we go, it'll just be me and XY. PaPa will be at home with CE.

I have been there once. You can see fireflies but I did not see many. Maybe weather plays a role. Anyway, this is a different experience, I would say and letting children stay in touch with nature is a wonderful thing to do. Time for informal learning too!
Go experience it! I love natures, if got chance, for sure will bring the kids there one day!
Don't know got mozzie mah, bring along mozzie repellent or patch !
reply...from my blog...
"yup..you can feed and buy there..."
I went to all these place many years ago and I like the paddy field visit very much, very nice scenery. The boat ride down the river to watch the fireflies was very very serene, peaceful and romantic. It's really worth the visit!
I think I will go if I have the chance and it' good to join the kid in their activities in nature. Don't worry I'm sure if you plan with your hubby sure can handle things at home without your existence. Don't forget to post the trip if you happen to go there... wish to know more too!

check the date in chinese calendar, if it's fullmoon, chances of seeing it very clearly is slim. if not then it should be quite OK. quite cheap huh so many things covered for Rm70!!
we saw fireflies in sabah too and it was great...alot and very bright
Jazz, oh good, it's not fullmoon. :)
