"Mi, chee..." said CE while scratching his shoulder. Every night, during bedtime, he'll start to itch once he's settled down and ready to sleep. I can't remember when this funny habit started but it's been quite awhile already (at least a few months, I think).
He'll start scratching his head, shoulder or neck and expect me to scratch for him. I'll continuously scratch or rub him lightly. If I stop before he's gone into deep sleep, he'll stir and scratch himself. So I've to scratch him till he falls asleep. Very tiring indeed.
I don't know why he itches here and there. And it's only during bedtime. I doubt it's the bed sheet. He still itches even though it's just been changed. And we change it every week. That's a weird habit, no? Do your kids have any funny bedtime habits?

Mine sure did have a weird one. He would twirl my hair and knot it! Ouch! and oucher! when I had to use the scissors to snip off the knot. There was no way I could undo the knot. Thank goodness his cured now. Juana
Hahaha maybe he wan u to manja him la.
huh? i dun know that this could be a habit. i tot my boy will react like this whenever he wants to sleep because of his skin allergies problem only.....??

for a lot of ppl, it's quite common to have certain sleeping habits...my mom has & few of my friends had too!
-my mom like us to scratch her back/feet during bedtime!
-one of my fren like to touch/scratch her own ankle/that of her mom if allow...haha
-another fren like to use d corner of a blanket or pillow sheet to touch/rub her lips........see how funny these ppl are???
so if u continuously pamper yr boy so comfortably, he will insist on this nice service by mumy, hehe!!
try reducing it slowly & see how....
the pyjamas perhaps or is it he just wantsu to scratch so he can fall asleep better and faster..hehe
Its the mattress, pillow and bolster. You need to put it under the hot son. It kills all the micro bugs.
my boy also like scratching his head while he about fall a sleep, luckly he dun need me to scratch for him .....
My niece was like that when young. She will need her mum to scratch her back.....
now my kid, she scratches her ear..
hey.. my baby too lah! he'll scratch his head left and right when he's sleepy.. dunno why also.. when I scratch for him, he'll twist and insist he scratch himself.. maybe my technique not right...?
Juana, really Ouch! CE oso liked to hold my hair to sleep when he was smaller. Luckily no twirling or knotting.
Sue, this kind of manja-ing, I 'bo latt' loh.
Jacelyn, my boy oso got a lil allergy around his neck. If that's the reason, how come he doesn't need scratching during afternoon naps?
Dora, real or fake, I hope it'll stop soon. Can be vy tiring for my hands. :)
Jac, not that I want to pamper him. He can't sleep n cry/make noise wor. Disturb jie jie leh. So hv to give in loh.
Wen, I think it's the latter. Coz all his clothes use the same type of detergent.
Mich, but he's not like that for a'noon naps wor (sleep on the same bed). But thx for the reminder. Hi time to sunbathe the pillows.
Anggie, good that he practices self-service. :)
Vivian, sounds like scratching to sleep is quite common hor.
Siew Ting, if he scratch himself, worry he'll scratch too hard, rite?
Ginie, my girl lagi teruk!! Most of the nites b4 she sleeps, she complains itchiness on her private part :(
slavemom, ure not alone in this. my oldest nephew (he's 12 yrs old now), was going through the same thing until they had to iron his pajamas before bed everynight. once he wears those warm pajamas suddenly he says he's not itchy anymore. in his case i think he was being psychological...? he said there were dustmites crawling on his pajamas. weird right??
maybe this is just a temporary habit..?
gib has one irritating bedtime habit; he needs to rub his hands on my fleece blanket! or else its a bit hard for him to sleep. sighh
When Alycia was a few months old, she would shake her head vigorously for quite a while b4 drifting into slumberland. After a period of time, this habit stopped.
Chin Nee, so wat do u do?
BabyBooned, I do hope it's temporary. Can't imagine scratching him to sleep forever. :D
Shireen, hahaha shake till dizzy, easier to sleep.
