Traumatised

CE is almost fully recovered. Thanks for all your get-well wishes. It was really traumatic feeding him medicine. Not sure if he was more traumatised or I am. :-|
I tried to bribe him with junk food/snacks. "Dowan!"
I used the cute Grover spoon. "Come, Grover give you medicine." "Dowan!"
I threatened him, "You eat it yourself or else PaPa will catch you later." *shake his head and sulk/run away*
So no choice, have to force feed him.

This round, he was on medication for 2 days (3 times a day, 3 types each time). I only fed him twice. After that, I waited for PaPa. The little fella's just too strong for me. I can't hold him down, even with Kakak's help. His struggling and crying got worse with every feeding. So when he was much better on Sunday, we decided to stop the medication.

Then he had runny nose again yesterday - watery mucus kept flowing out of his nose. Since he only needed the flu medicine, I added it into his milk. Good thing he didn't realise it. *phew*

Wah...3 types of medicine each time. THat's a lot. Gwen take the med willingly coz I only gave 1 type. If more I think she won't cooperate also. Yeah lah..boys are stronger coz me alone can hold my girl's face tight and force feed her and with constant praising and explaining she would eventually swallow it...hehe. If you can add the med in his milk and he took it without knowing..hehe..why not. Give him sometime, I'm sure he will take it willingly one day. :) Hope he will fully recover soon.

I also just realized that the dosage of the medication is very little compared to the feed of milk, so I add it in (sometimes) and hope it won't be too apparent. I also add more milk just in case :P

Wah, so many types of medicines at a time, no wonder he's terrified. Luckily, he drank his milk with the meds. My gal has this problem too and this trick of putting meds in her milk can never works for me. Anyway, I hope CE will fully recover soon.

Now is the "sick" season. Most of the kids are caught by the fever, flu and cough, so do my sons.

Lucky me is, both boys LOVE medicine *roll eye* Especially the young one Cruz, he even ask for more!!

slavemom..... i will never chase my kids for med. what i do is, trast med like special... so far my kids are very easy to feed med. once their teachers told, ur kids eat med like eating soup yah... then i told them never force them.
BTW, if u found hard to feed him, i think add in his milk, is best way

If got to force, try this. Grab him to lying down, hold his both hands and pump in the med with syringe then quickly pinch close his nose, they will swallow..

Although it is not good to do so, they will be traumatised too, but what to do. Thats how I feed Terry with chinese med. Not so much spit out.

Ling, seems effective wor. But the docs won't recommend it.

Mummy Gwen, XY oni took meds willings when she was 4+. Guess I've another 2 yrs to wait? Help!!

Jazz, it'll get better when they're older, but it's a matter of WHEN? :)

Anggie, really tough hor.

Wen, yes, we use the syringe. He's ok with playing with it, to drink water. But somehow he knows if it's med. :-|

Annie, u're so lucky!

Yatie, my boy jes doesn't want to cooperate. Susah lah.

Judy, I tried pinching his nose to get him to open his mouth. Then pump in the med. But he choked on it and I think some went into his nose. Really pitiful.

Jac, "marn marn ngai loh". :(
