Superb Memory

... when it comes to her favourite food (particularly snacks) but she can be quite forgetful in every other things.

She forgets what I've just taught her, when we do revision.
She forgets that she shouldn't shout into didi's ear.
She forgets that she shouldn't run in the house.
She forgets that she shouldn't jump on the bed/sofa.
She forgets to pass up her work in school.
She forgets to wear her watch to school.
She forgets to sit nicely when she's wearing a skirt.
... and the list goes on.

Some days, I let her drink milk or vitagen in the car on the way to school. I'll usually take it out from the fridge 10-15 minutes earlier so that it's not too cold. The kids have sensitive lungs when they were much younger (CE still) so I don't let them take cold drinks/fruits/food straight from the fridge. XY has no problems taking cold stuff now. But I guess it has become a habit (for me), that's why she still has to wait awhile before consuming the drinks/food.

Anyway, back to the story. The other day, we were already in the car, getting ready to go out of the house, then XY exclaimed that I've forgotten to take her drink (which was left on the dining table). So I've to get out of the car, unlock the house door, take her drink, then lock the door (again) and get into the car. This has happened twice and BOTH times, she reminded me when we were in the car, before I reversed it out. Superb memory huh... when it comes to her favourite drink. :-)

I tell my kids they have selective memory. They only remember certain things and forget certain things. And the things they forget easily are always things they are expected to remember like house rules and school stuff.

It is same with my boy Ryan...he seems can remember well on the things that he wants, even after his nap,he will still remember well.

I also have the habit of taking out vitagen/solivite from the fridge before giving it to Ryan, avoid him to drink those cold drinks. But i never giv him those stuffs in the morning,Only after his lunch or dinner, then I will serve him Vitagen /solivite.

Oh! You are like me! I used to take the Yakult out from the fridge too and let the children drink it when it is not that cold. Was trying to avoid that regular cough.

Why does it all sound so familiar? Our kids can be best friends!

Same same here. When I teach him some new vocabs, it has to be repeated like 3 or 4 times before it finally sticks in his mind.

But.. whatever promises that we make to him.. just tell him once (no repetition necessary) and it gets etched into his mind instantly.:)

Hi Slavemom, ha ha, kids are forgetful....but not if you mention about buying a toy for them. Then they will remember for days, nights too.

When I was 6, I would forget what my mom asked me to do, what with fishing, taking care of my pet monkey, rabbit, baby leopard, dog..
she motivated me to write down things so I won't forget.

And till today I have that habit, writing down things.
Will even put dates on things we buy, rice, coffee, etc....
and thats how I can bring back my memories, from all my old, faded diaries I had brought with me here.
Thanks to my mom who made me write down. Lee.

Hi, I'm back from 2 weeks MIA!

LOL... selective memory is great! If she could remember everything(regardless good or bad, favourite or not) soon she will turn into a moody and grumpy girl, like Juan Juan!:)

Have a wonderful day!
p/s: love your template, it's very artistic and beautiful!
